You are invited to join us on January 14, 2022, from 9 am-11 am for a celebration honoring the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. There are three options for joining the celebration: in person on East Campus at the Lincoln Mall, watching the live stream on West Campus in the Nest, or attending via Zoom. The event is centered around this year’s theme and call to action for The Urgency of Creating the Beloved Community. Dr. King used the term Beloved Community throughout his lifetime, which centered around a Community in which everyone is cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hate.
The keynote speaker is Dr. Jesse Mason, Provost of Academic and Student Affairs at North Hennepin Community College and former Century College Academic Dean. Dr. Mason has served 18 years in the Minnesota State Colleges and University System. His mission is to create transformative experiences for students, the community, and employees that will lead to success and a better quality of life. College President Angelia Millender will provide the welcoming remarks. Joe Davis, Minnesota’s national touring artist, speaker, and educator featured on BET, CNN, and VH1 will host the celebration.
