First Person Plural – Cadex Herrera
A Many Faces event hosted by White Bear Center for the Arts
Cadex Herrera was a 2024 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. Through interviews, documentaries, and an art installation, the project showcased the stories of local immigrants, highlighting their contributions to the community. The outdoor installation, which was on the campus of the White Bear Center for the Arts from April – June 2025, and the accompanying video, aimed to foster appreciation for cultural diversity and encourage dialogue about the shared experiences of immigrants and the community they call home.
Cadex and the immigrants who were interviewed were honored at an opening reception at the White Bear Center for the Arts in September 2024 and at a closing event in April 2025.

This exhibition was made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature, and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, and funded in part by the Minnesota Humanities Center with money from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund that was created with the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008.
