Native American Celebration

On March 22, 2025, Many Faces invited the community to celebrate Native American history, traditions, and culture at Mariner Middle School in White Bear Lake.

Attendees experienced live performances, hands-on activities, and meaningful teachings that highlighted Indigenous heritage and its impact today, as outlined in the schedule for the day.

10:00 am	Boozhoo (Welcome) Traditional Tobacco Ceremony: Indigenous Peoples Task Force
10:15 – 11:00 am	Morning Workshops Beading Workshop with Winona Kitto Lacrosse: the meaning and significance + hands-on demonstration of the “Creator’s Game” with John Hunter What is a Powwow? with Rob Thomas
11:00 am – 12:15 pm	Community Gathering & Honoring Ceremony All guests will gather in the gym for a powerful performance by The Twin Cities Intertribal Drum and Dance Troupe, featuring traditional dances such as Jingle, Fancy, Chicken, Grass, and Traditional. Following the performance, an honoring ceremony will recognize graduating students, allowing attendees to extend their congratulations. The ceremony will conclude with an Intertribal Dance, inviting all in attendance to participate and celebrate together.
12:30 – 1:30 pm	Afternoon Workshops Ikidowin Youth Theatre: “Our Songs Have Power” Beading Workshops with Winona Kitto Lacrosse: the meaning and signficance + hands-on demonstration of the “Creator’s Game” with John Hunter Peer-to-Peer Tobacco Education
