What was it like for African Americans in a very white state from 1820 to 1920? How were they treated? Where did they work? You’ll find that some white Minnesotans owned slaves, that St. Paul was a station on the underground railroad, and that the St. Paul Public Schools were segregated by law.

Mother’s Day with Mayumi

Come join us for treats and an art activity with Mayumi Amada. Mayumi is a Japanese artist who had the inaugural exhibition, Water Flows Life Blooms, in the new Ford Family Gallery when WBCA reopened in the Fall of 2021. Mayumi is back at WBCA to share her talents with us again. She will lead a fun Mother’s Day make-and-take project. Muffins and refreshments will be provided in honor of Mother’s Day. All ages and abilities are welcome.
